Screenings and Security
Most previews screenings will have security restrictions at the theater, including limited and no use of recording devices - and increasingly this will include cell phones and laptops. We try to make arrrangements for Security to hold cell phones whenever possible, but under no circumstances should you bring video recording equipment of any kind to the screening. There is no guarantee that multiplexes or small theaters will be able to accomodate individual requests to hold electronic equipment if you are informed by Security that you cannot enter the theater with a camera, laptop or cell phone. You are responsible for making your own arrangements in these circumstances.
Make sure that you read the restrictions for all screenings ahead of time particularly for high profile movies with significant piracy potential. Even if there is no stated security for the screening expect that there will be - there is a a permanent ban on all recording devices and - increasingly - anticipate that there will be bag and body searches as well as wanding and night vision equipment used by the security personnnel hired by the studios. Try to come to the theater early if possible to avoid delays.
If you are allowed to bring your phone, pager or Blackberry into the theater - please turnĀ it off before the screening starts and do not restore power until you leave the theater. You may be asked to leave the theater if you use it during the screening.
